Food truck

Today was one of my great friends, also named Ruby, Birthday dinners. For this dinner we met in town and went out too a rustic, healthy, restaurant called, 'The food truck'. I have too say, I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. I had heard that this place was good, but I didn't expect it too be this good! For my meal, I chose their award winning, 'The Beefroot Burger'. This Burger was made up of pickles, a beef, carrot and beetroot patty, tomato, iceberg, and a yummy sauce. This burger was delicious and didn't leave me feeling stuffed too the brim. If this wasn't enough, it was only $12 and was brought out after only ten minutes, which was spent discussing the unexpected location, in a crowded car park. Afterwards we decided to get an ice-cream  this is where I made the mistake. On the desert menu, they gave you a choice of plain vanilla ice-cream, vanilla and nuts, vanilla and berries, or a mix of both. I originally planned on getting the berry ice-cream, but when it came too ordering, I had heard the nutty one was nice so I went for a mix. Personally  I didn't like this at all and couldn't wait too get too the berry section. That aside, overall I had a great time, loved the food and the prices were amazing. I would recommend The Food Truck, any day.

Christmas Goodies !

Hello, Bloggers !

Merry 11th of December Bloggers! Not long until Christmas is it? So much to do. And seeing as it is about too be summer holidays in New Zealand, I needed something to give all of my friends as a Christmas/ good-bye present. What better than shortbread?

Easy Shortbread:
  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 100 grams margarine
  • 50 grams caster sugar
  • 6 passion fruit (optional for a summer kick)
  • or 1/4 block of chocolate (any kind with do)

Method

 1. Soften butter and pour into a bowl along with all other ingredients, not including chocolate, (if making with passionfruit, scoop out the inside and mix in).

2. Roll out to about 1/2 cm thick.

3. Cut out little Christmas shapes, (hearts, trees, or stars work well).

4. Bake for 10minutes, or until golden.

This photo is of unbaked shortbread

5. Allow to cool, if not adding chocolate, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.

6. Melt chocolate and dip half of shortbread into it, (I didn't do this because I was scared they would melt in my bag, but it adds a nicer affect).

7. OPTIONAL : I then put the shortbread into clear bags and tied a ribbon around the top.

Have a very Merry Christmas! Sure too post soon!
